Two different units of ATOS will participate to the SUPERSEDE project, namely Atos Research & Innovation (with a main role as software integrator) and Media Lab (provides the use case on sport live streaming, performs UC validation).

The aim of the Media Lab is to provide technologies that improve the consumer watching experience. The Media Lab brings its expertise in state of the art streaming technology building from the R&D activity such as OLYMPIC, LIVE, My eDirector 2012, SMART, SARACEN, Experimedia. This knowledge is applied in commercial solutions, where the Media Lab team is responsible of the streaming solutions such as Vancouver Winter Olympic Games 2010 for Spain (in partnership with the main Spanish public TV, RTVE), the world broadcasting of the London 2012 Paralympics Games for the International Paralympics Committee, and together with MSL on behalf of Olympic Broadcast Services, stream the Sochi Winter Olympic Games 2014 for 51 countries for several broadcasters. Media Lab brings also its expertise in real- time and near-real-time analysis of QoS and usage metrics from the players and Social Networks using technologies as Map Reduce and MongoDB databases in order to extract and filter the important information items, and determine the trending topics and social tendencies in real-time.
In SUPERSEDE, Atos will lead WP5 (Software Tool Suite), and the following tasks: Task 3.4 (Automating decisions for self-configuration / dynamic personalization), Task 4.2 (enacting decisions in software evolution), Task 6.4 devoted to the validation of the Atos UC, and Task 7.3 devoted to market and business analysis.
